Damian has been in the utilities sector (electricity, water, sewerage, and transport) since 2005 most recently working for Power and Water Corporation in Darwin. Prior to that he worked with Unitywater in its first year of operation in 2010 where he promoted nutrient offsets to reduce environmental harm at less cost and managed the business through its first three years of price monitoring by the Queensland Competition Authority. He has also worked with Energex as it transitioned to the Australian Energy Regulator for their 2010-15 regulatory submission.
Damian started his career in private practice in Far North Queensland, before moving to Queensland Treasury Department in 1997 and in 1999 to Queensland Treasury Corporation where he managed multiple companies and trusts that owned assets of strategic significance such as pipelines and divestment of the State’s interests in Bank of Queensland and Suncorp~Metway.
Damian has a Degree in Business; Master of Commerce; Grad Dip in Tourism and is a CPA. He has worked across a number of utilities to implement strategic and business planning, business improvement, tariff and economic regulatory reform, financial and asset management, credit risk and safety. His passion is to deliver commercially sustainable outcomes for the community, customers and environment while mitigating risk and challenges to service delivery.
Damian enjoys fishing, camping and four wheel driving with his wife and three children who live in the north side of Brisbane.
