Events and tourism advisory committee

The  Events and Tourism Advisory Committee provides high level strategic direction, product development and community engagement advice to Council relating to tourism & event policy matters. This is to ensure that Toowoomba Region Events, such as the Carnival of Flowers, continue to evolve in response to changing times and demands, and to develop tourism product and marketing strategies to promote and enhance our region as a desirable destination.

The Advisory Committee will consist of up to nine members, including two Councillors, two staff members and up to five community representatives.

Appointment of community representatives will be made by council after nominations have been invited in a newspaper generally circulating in the area seeking expressions of interest from residents.
