Monthly Council ordinary meetings are open to the public and seating is provided at the back of the chamber. A schedule of all Council meetings; ordinary, committee and special, are listed below. The Council is the decision-making body on all policy matters. Matters for consideration by the Council are usually directed through Council's Standing Committees, which are:

Water and Waste Committee,
Infrastructure Committee,
Environment and Community Committee,
Finance and Business Strategy Committee,

Details of forthcoming Council and Committee Meetings or any changes to meetings, the times and venues are published in Council's news column in local newspapers. Any changes to Council or Committee Meetings and, if time permits, the calling of special meetings will be notified in local newspapers.

Ordinary Meetings of Council are held on the third Tuesday of each month in the Council Chambers, First Floor, City Hall, 541 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba. Meetings commence at 10.00 am and are open to the public, with the exception of confidential matters which are discussed in a closed meeting.
