Toowoomba’s attractiveness as a business meeting destination will be highlighted and promoted via a new edition of the Toowoomba Conference Guide.
The quality, 24 page Guide is a tool to boost business tourism across the Toowoomba Region that is being developed by conference bureau, Toowoomba Conferences.
Bookings for the 2018/19 edition of the Toowoomba Conference Guide close 15 March 2018. An advertising prospectus is available with all enquiries to be directed to Toowoomba Conferences via email@example.com or by telephoning 07 4632 1988.
Toowoomba Regional Council Tourism and Events portfolio leader Cr Geoff McDonald said business tourism remained a vitally important sector of the region’s economy with many flow-on benefits for small and medium enterprises.
“Local companies profit from these business visitors with each one spending more than other visitors as they meet, eat, stay and play in our region,” Cr McDonald said.
“In the year ending September 2017, the Southern Queensland Country region saw visitation growth across the board in the holiday, visiting friends and relatives and business segments.
“Business growth was particularly strong with an increase of 31% over the 12 month period.
“The Toowoomba Conference Guide is key to attracting these groups by featuring the best the Toowoomba Region can offer.
“Our accessibility is far more convenient thanks to the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport’s direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and Cairns, with other connections. Council is determined to capitalise on our rich traditions to show business travellers the full extent of our unique facilities and services that can cater to their individual needs.”
The Guide is designed to showcase the Toowoomba Region as a great meeting destination with essential information for meeting planners about venues, accommodation, services, destination experiences, plus our regional food and wine providers and experiences.
The Guide will assist meeting organisers to more easily plan their next event and attract more business tourism to the region. It is aimed at associations, sporting, corporate or government organisations planning meetings, conferences, trade shows, workshops, seminars or training.
The conference bureau helps groups to meet in the region, providing a free service matching meeting and event organiser needs with Toowoomba Conferences member facilities and services.
