We love to support local not for profit organisations that make our region shine through a range of imaginative events. Groups from outside the region may also be eligible for assistance, provided that it can be demonstrated that there will be a direct benefit to Toowoomba Region.  The amount of a grant is dependant on attendance levels at the event

The opportunity to apply for a grant is available twice within a financial year:

Opening date Closing date
1 Jan 2020 3 Feb 2020
1 July 2020 1 August 2020

There is also a special round for grant funding for organisations participating in The Grand Central Floral Parade as part of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.  Participants in the parade will be notified of opening and closing dates.

Where it can be demonstrated that particular funding for a major event will have direct results on growth and sustainability, an applicant can be listed to receive funding for multiple years, but no more than 3, subject to conditions.

Grant funding levels for event types

Major event – over 5,000 patrons with grants of $10,000 & over

Regional event – between 1,000 to 5,000 patrons with grants from $5,000 to $10,000

Community event – up to 1,000 patrons with grants up to $1,500

Assessment criteria

Other eligibility restrictions may apply to specific funding categories.

Low priority is given to events that have received previous funding, except community events.

If an applicant donates profits from an event to charity, we require the retention of profits, equal to the value of the grant, for the running of the next year’s event. If it is a one off event, then the grant must be re-payed before any profits from the event are distributed. Failure to meet these requirements will render an applicant ineligible for future funding.

Funding is limited and therefore, it is not possible to meet all requests.
