Waste facility layout

How to pack your load

Pack your vehicle so that it's easy to off load at the facility - rubbish on the bottom, recycling and re-useable items in the middle and greenwaste, scrap metal and bulky items at the top. If you need to do another lap of the facility .

What the facility offers

The facility operates as a waste transfer facility. It is not a landfill.  This means that odour from the site is negligible. Landfill continues at the Toowoomba Waste Management Centre, on Hermitage Road. Waste is transported regularly off site and depending on the item, it is recycled, reprocessed or buried in landfill. A waste transfer facility provides a more efficient way to safely manage many different types of waste from a variety of different sources.

Future projects

Council is preparing for the future and there are plans in place to build two new strategically placed facilities to the north and south of the city. The Greater Toowoomba Waste Management Facility is being used as a model for other facilities which will be smaller in size. For more information on other waste projects go to Major Projects - Water and Waste .
