Winter Wonderland 2019 - Toowoomba City Library activities

During Winter Wonderland 2019, the Toowoomba City Library will be holding a range of extra activities for the whole family.

All activities are FREE and no bookings are required.

Winter Wonderland Storytime - 25 June to 11 July

Join us for a special Winter Wonderland Storytime session full of stories, songs and craft. Recommended for ages 2-5 years.

Location: Level 2 of the Toowoomba City Library

Time: 9:45 am - 10:45 am


DIY slime workshops - 24 June to 12 July

Get your slime on in this fun and free workshop. Create and personalise your very own slime to take home. Recommended for ages 5+.

Location: Level 2 of the Toowoomba City Library

Times: 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm


Snow Queen and Snow Princess Meet and Greet by Magic and Munchkins Entertainment - 24 June to 12 July

The Snow Queen and Snow Princess will be adding sparkle to your child’s Winter Wonderland experience with a meet and greet, singalong and opportunity for a photo. Recommended for ages 8 and under.

Through the wardrobe into Narnia - 24 June to 12 July

Step through the wardrobe into Narnia where kids can make a winter crown and participate in a 'Find the Yeti' scavenger hunt for a chance at the 'Lucky Dip Station'. Recommended for all ages.

Author Jill Baker will be talking about her book The Horns, a deeply personal account of being born into what was first Southern Rhodesia, then Rhodesia. Jill Baker grew up as a white child whose best playmates, until she went to school, were three black children. The paths each of their lives took could not have been more divergent.

Combine your love of indoor plants with your love of books in this hands-on workshop.

Workshop inclusions

Workshop fee is $20 per person cash only and includes book, plants and step-by-step instructions. Space is limited.

Out and About: Baby Rhyme Time and Story Time 

Babies and young children learn best by listening and interacting with the important adults in their lives during everyday activities – whether that’s talking about what you can see on the way to the park, singing nursery rhymes, pointing out something you both view out the window or learning new words while shopping for groceries. Free Baby Time and Story Time sessions are now being run at various locations throughout Toowoomba. Proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government and the State Library of Queensland.

Anime Club at the Toowoomba City Library

Join us as we watch anime, talk manga, eat food, do a little gaming and host cosplay and trivia competitions. Movies of a G, PG, and M rating will be shown.

Times: Held on the last Friday of the month during term time only, 4 to 5.30pm
Ages: Anime Club is open to ages 12 to 18 only. 
Bookings: Not required.
