Free online courses through Lynda.com

Lynda.com is a leading online learning platform that helps anyone learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals. New courses are added every week and library members can select from beginner, intermediate or advanced levels. 

You can use the library portal to gain free and unlimited access to Lynda.com from any compatible desktop or portable device, whether on a library computer, at your home or business or on the go.

PCs and MACs

New users, to access the service:

  1. Go to http://lynda.com/portal/sip?org=toowoombarc.qld.gov.au
  2. Enter your library membership number (barcode) and PIN
  3. Click on 'Log in'
  4. If you are a new Lynda.com user, enter your first and last name and email address in to the corresponding panels and click ‘Save'

If you are a returning user:

  1. Go to http://lynda.com/portal/sip?org=toowoombarc.qld.gov.au
  2. Enter your library membership number (barcode) and PIN
  3. Click on 'Log in'
  4. You should now have access to lynda.com. You can bookmark this site http://lynda.com/portal/sip?org=toowoombarc.qld.gov.au for future use.

 

iOS and Android devices

  1. Download the Lynda.com app from the Google Play store (Android) or the App Store (iOS)
  2. When you first open the app, tap the Already a member? button
  3. Instead of signing in as an individual, tap the organization tab and scroll down to Web Portal
    Enter toowoombarc.qld.gov.au in the organisation URL field
    When the address is entered, tap the Log in button
  4. You will be taken to Lynda.com’s log in portal. Enter your library card number and PIN and then tap Log in
