Waves Swim School

Waves Swim School provides active programs for children from 6 months old through to adult swimmers. We are committed to providing excellent aquatic programs that best meet the needs of our clients. We boast a 13 level swim program that allows for children to increase levels when reached by achieving set skills. The participants are encouraged to progress steadily at their own pace. Lessons are limited to small class sizes and run for 30 to 60 minutes to ensure the maximum benefit is received from the program.

We offer a range of options:

  • Water awareness for infants and toddlers
  • Learn to swim for pre-schoolers
  • Learn to swim for youth
  • Learn to swim for adults
  • Private swimming classes
  • Squad training for youth and adults 

We are Austswim recognised and all our instructors are Austswim qualified and CPR certified.

Time: 

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am to 12pm and 3.30pm to 7pm (Milne Bay and Highfields Fitness centres)
  • Saturday 8.30am to 12pm in summer (Highfields Fitness and Recreation Centre only)
  • Lessons are offered all year round in a heated indoor and outdoor pool at Milne Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre Toowoomba. Highfields Fitness and Recreation Centre offer classes in an outdoor 25m heated pool in the summer months.

Cost: $12 for the first child per lesson, $11.50 for the second child and $11 for three or more children in the same family.

Safety week

Each school term we dedicate 1 full week to safety in and around aquatic environments, following the guidelines from Royal Life Saving’s swim and survive programs.  Children are encouraged to participate by answering questions, and learning different survival skills. During this week children take part in circuits that involve wearing a personal flotation device, use various flotation aids like balls and eskys, perform basic rescues using clothing and towels, tread water and learn to swim through currents. Contact us to find out which week these sessions will be run.

 

Adults SwimFit classes

The adult swim fitness training sessions have been designed for everyday people wanting to improve their swimming technique and general fitness. The training sessions are performed at your own pace and have been designed to provide stroke development and stroke correction. These sessions are a great way to improve cardio respiratory fitness and endurance. It is also a great all over body workout; increasing core strength and muscle tone, in a non-impact environment.

Time: Weekly sessions are run Mondays at 6pm and Wednesdays at 6am (week starting 3 April 2017).

Cost: $10 (casual) per session or you can purchase a ten pack for $80.
