Toowoomba Regional Council is constructing a major depot at 24 Nass Road in Charlton. The depot will be a modern, intelligent and sustainable facility to meet the current and future needs of our staff and the communities we serve.
The project includes the construction of a central operations and management building, three workshop buildings, a central store, a nursery and a Toowoomba State Emergency Centre Regional Unit and Toowoomba Group Headquarters.
The new facility will include a number of sustainable design elements focused on water and energy efficiency to minimise the building’s environmental impact.
Preliminary earthworks were completed in early April 2019. Toowoomba-based construction company McNab Developments (QLD) has been awarded the design and construction tender for the project.
Construction is expected to start in mid-2019 and the depot is expected to open in 2020.
