Park upgrades & renewals

Park and pathway

With hundreds of parks located throughout the region, an extensive upgrade and renewal program is required each year to ensure these community assets remain relevant.

Some parks will benefit from new recreation and play opportunities while others will receive upgrades to meet changed standards and population growth. Below are some of the current projects:

Clifton - Elsie Jones Park skate facility upgrade

A new skate park is being planned for construction at Elsie Jones Park to replace the existing out-dated facility.

Following consultation with young Clifton residents, the need for a new skate park was identified and included in the Clifton Township Concept Masterplan adopted by Council in 2016.

$150,000 has been allocated to this project for the 2018/19 financial year.

Play equipment renewal & upgrade program

More than $950,000 has been allocated in the 2018/19 financial year towards renewing and replacing end-of-life play equipment, shade cover and softfall at a number of parks across the region. This will ensure our play facilities meet the demands of population growth and the increasing expectations of the play ‘experience’. Importantly, future works will address changes to safety standards.

The following parks are expected to benefit from the allocation of funds:
