Application fees

Builder working on house

When applying for a development approval, there are fees which must be paid at the time of lodgement. Council’s Planning and Development Group Cost Recovery Fees & Charges can be found here. When calculating application fees for a development application, there are many things you will need to take into consideration. Fees to consider, include, but aren’t limited to:

  • base fees for all uses involved, and all aspects of development involved
  • overlay fees
  • staging fees
  • report fees, for submission of specialist technical reports

Application fees are a mandatory part of lodging a development application and as such, they must be paid at the time of lodgement.

Fees for submission of technical/specialist reports

The schedule of Fees and Charges identifies that there are two levels of complexity for technical or specialist reports submitted as part of an application or request. The schedule provides separate fees for the assessment of simple and complex technical/specialist reports. The Development - Application fees for simple and complex technical reports MISC 001 guide can provide further clarification on which reports are considered to be simple or complex.
