His voluntary leadership includes roles as Board Member of Toowoomba Together Inc, Sports Darling Downs, AFL Darling Downs Advisory Committee, and Link Community Services, as well as Chair of Not In Our Club. He is also proud to serve as an Ambassador for Hope Horizons Inc, supporting families affected by cancer.

Through these roles, Cr James continues to strengthen community connections and advocate for initiatives that enhance the liveability and prosperity of the Toowoomba Region.
