You can recycle cardboard at your local waste facility and in your recycle bin (yellow lidded wheelie bin).

In your recycle bin

  • remove packaging and place in your general waste bin,
  • flatten the boxes
  • cut the boxes up so that the pieces are smaller than 50cm - your lid should be able to close.

If there is too much to fit in your bin or it's longer than the bin and the lid can't close, take it to the cardboard recycling area at your nearest waste facility. This is too big for our trucks to handle.

Waxed cardboard is not accepted in the recycle bin or the cardboard recycling area or your waste facility and should be disposed of as general waste to landfill.

At your waste facility

Please flatten your boxes and remove all packaging including:

  • plastic sheeting
  • plastic wrap
  • styrofoam
  • foam packaging pellets
  • sponges
  • banding straps
  • timber pallets
  • other general waste

Cardboard mixed with any packaging materials is not recyclable and will be sent to landfill.
