In the 2022/23 financial year, budget has been allocated to numerous regional resealing, rehabilitation and asphalt overlay programs.
The following ongoing projects will focus on improving our roads.
The asphalt overlay program aims to renew existing sections of the road network with an asphalt surface to the latest standard. This is an ongoing program and $3 million has been allocated in the 2022/23 budget.
This ongoing program involves renewing the bitumen seals across the existing road network. Various sites are selected for reseal according to the condition rating within the asset management system.
In the 2022/23 budget, $6.5 million has been allocated to the program.
This is an ongoing program focusing on rehabilitating the pavement of our sealed road network in the poorest condition, in priority sections within the central area of our Region. The program aims to renew the life of the road and improve safety to current standards.
In the 2022/23 budget, $3.75 million was allocated to this program.
Another ongoing program, the resheet renewal program focuses on renewing the pavement across the existing unsealed gravel road network.
$2.5 million has been allocated in the 2022/23 budget for the program.
