Our Heritage Advisory Service has produced a series of brochures, attached below, intended as a general guide to typical house styles in the Toowoomba region. They include detailed information about Victorian (1850-1910), Edwardian (1900-1920), Inter War (1918-1939) and Post War (1940-1950) house styles.

Brochures are available from our Customer Service Centres, Visitor Information Centres  and the Local History Library. 

The brochures offer suggestions for construction materials and features appropriate to each era, including garden ideas, to help owners maintain the character and style of their properties and surrounds. They also contain references for more detailed research and further assistance, where your house has an unusual or individual character. The house style brochures complement the existing heritage advisory notes :
