Free parking in Toowoomba CBD
Your first 30 minutes are free in on-street parking across the Toowoomba CBD. To be able to use the 30 minutes free option, you will need to start your session on the Toowoomba Parking App or parking meter on arrival. Additional time can be purchased using the meters or the Toowoomba Parking app. Once you have parked for the maximum allotted time (1 hour unless signed otherwise), you must move your vehicle. Returning to the meter and paying without moving your vehicle (feeding the meter) is not allowed and you may receive an infringement.
There are also some 5 and 10-minute parking bays located on either side of Ruthven and Margaret Streets and a small number of 10-minute short-term spaces in the centre of Margaret Street. Please observe street signage to understand the parking options within the CBD.
3P areas
Please be aware that parking within the area shown on the Central Traffic Area (3P green zone) parking map is designated three-hour (3P) parking, unless otherwise stated. The perimeter of the 3P central traffic area is signposted with entry and exit signage to help motorists identify the three-hour parking limits in the inner city and help drivers avoid being issued an infringement notice.
Where no parking signage exists, parking within that boundary automatically defaults to three-hour parking (3P) and may attract a fine if the time limit is exceeded. The boundary operates from Mon-Fri 9:00am – 5:00pm, Sat 9:00am – 11:30am.
