The Technical Advice Team provide general advice only and it does not replace obtaining professional advice.
The pre-lodgement service is customer-driven, providing an opportunity for customers to identify issues/matters and seek advice about a site, proposed development and/or proposed changes to an approval prior to the lodgement of a development application or change application. Depending on the complexity and the type of advice sought, pre-lodgement advice may be provided as either emailed response/feedback to issues raised, or pre-lodgement meeting in person or online (with a summary/notes of discussion points). Refer to the 'Pre-lodgement Service' article for further detail on a pre-lodgement meeting and how to apply.
Written advice provides planning information on complex enquiries, or where advice in writing is required for topics such as existing use rights or property transfers. We will aim to provide written advice within 10 working days of the fee payment. Complete the Development - Written advice generally in accordance and confirmation of accepted development category application (PDF for print) and pay the required fee as per our Register of Fees and Charges. Plans or justification to support the request may also be needed. Submit requests to development@tr.qld.gov.au.
Development consultants have expertise in a range of matters about planning and development. They can provide professional advice and assistance and prepare and lodge development applications on your behalf. Depending on the type and complexity of the proposal, you may need a development consultant with expertise in one or more of the following fields: town planning, civil engineering, surveying, building design, environmental matters or construction.
